LinkedIn account safety: how Linkdify protects the accounts you send from

What gets LinkedIn accounts restricted, the limits and pacing Linkdify applies to every account, and how sending from a rented profile keeps your personal LinkedIn completely out of the picture.

The short version

Every account that sends through Linkdify runs under daily and weekly caps, randomized pacing and automatic rate-limit backoff. If you'd rather your personal account carry zero risk, send from a rented profile instead: your own account is never connected, so there's nothing on it for LinkedIn to act on.

How LinkedIn restrictions work

LinkedIn restricts accounts whose activity looks automated or unwanted. It doesn't publish exact thresholds, but the patterns that draw attention are well known:

  • Volume spikes. Sending far more connection requests or messages than the account normally does, especially in a short burst.
  • Machine-like timing. Actions spaced at perfectly even intervals, around the clock.
  • Low acceptance. Lots of invitations that go ignored or get marked "I don't know this person".
  • Repeated contact. Messaging the same people over and over, or several teammates hitting the same person.

A restriction applies to the whole profile, not a single campaign. Depending on severity it can mean a temporary block on sending invitations, a request to verify your identity, or a full account restriction while LinkedIn reviews it.

Safeguards on every account

These run automatically on every account connected to Linkdify, whether it's your own or a rented profile.

Hard daily and weekly caps

Each account has a daily and a rolling weekly limit for connection requests, plus daily limits for messages, InMails, profile views and other actions. The cap is checked and reserved right before each send, so even with many campaigns running at once an account never goes over it. When the day's allowance is used up, the remaining sends move to the next active day instead of being dropped.

Human-like pacing

Sends are spread across the day instead of firing in bursts. There are at least 20 minutes between leads plus a random extra delay, and the delays between steps in a sequence vary by about 15% so nothing lands on a fixed rhythm. You choose which days each campaign runs, and you can optionally limit sending to business hours.

Automatic rate-limit backoff

When LinkedIn pushes back on a send, Linkdify slows down rather than retrying straight away. The send is retried after 30 minutes, then 1 hour, then 2 hours. After three rate-limit hits in a day, the rest of that day's sends wait until the next active day. If an account keeps getting rate-limited for three days in a row without sending anything, it's paused.

Smarter connection requests

  • Free accounts send invites without a note. LinkedIn allows free accounts only a handful of note-bearing invites per month, so Linkdify keeps your volume up by saving the personal touch for the first message after acceptance.
  • Notes stay under LinkedIn's 300-character limit. Longer notes are shortened automatically instead of failing.
  • People LinkedIn won't let you invite are dropped. If an invitation is refused for a lead (for example, one already pending), that lead leaves the sequence instead of being retried.

One contact per person, per team

When a team shares campaigns, each person can only be contacted by one of them. A prospect never gets the same pitch from three of your reps.

Default sending limits

These are the defaults per LinkedIn account. You can adjust them on the Limits page in your dashboard. Starting lower and increasing gradually is the safest approach, especially for an account that hasn't done much outreach before.

Your own account vs. a rented profile

You can send from your own LinkedIn account or from a rented profile. The safeguards above apply to both. The difference is what's at stake.

What "0% risk to your personal account" means

When you send from a rented profile, your personal LinkedIn is never logged in to or connected to Linkdify. There's no activity on it, so there's nothing for LinkedIn to restrict. Rented profiles themselves can still be restricted. That's uncommon (roughly 3–4% of profiles), and they're replaced free when it happens.

If an account gets restricted

Linkdify doesn't detect LinkedIn restrictions automatically, so if you see a warning in LinkedIn, act on it:

  • Pause the account's campaigns in Linkdify straight away.
  • Follow LinkedIn's instructions, such as verifying your identity, before sending anything else.
  • Lower your limits when you resume, then raise them gradually over a few weeks.
  • Rented profile? Email help@linkdify.io and we'll replace it.

Safe-sending checklist

  • Start new or quiet accounts well below the default limits and ramp up over a few weeks.
  • Target people likely to accept. Acceptance rate matters more than volume.
  • Personalize your first message, especially on free accounts that invite without a note.
  • Restrict campaigns to business hours on the days your audience works.
  • Don't run the same leads through several campaigns or tools at once.
  • Keep your personal account out of outbound entirely by sending from a rented profile.

FAQ

Can my personal LinkedIn account get restricted if I use Linkdify?

If you send from a rented profile, no. Your personal account is never connected to Linkdify, so no automation runs on it. If you connect your own account instead, Linkdify paces and caps its activity, but the normal LinkedIn risk still applies to it.

What are Linkdify's default sending limits?

Free LinkedIn accounts default to 20 connection requests a day and 150 a week. Premium, Sales Navigator and Recruiter accounts default to 80 a day and 200 a week. Messages are capped at 100 a day. You can lower or raise these on the Limits page.

Why do free accounts send connection requests without a note?

LinkedIn only allows a small number of note-bearing invitations per month on free accounts. To keep your full invite volume, Linkdify sends free accounts' invites without a note and saves the personal touch for the first message after they accept.

What happens when LinkedIn rate-limits an account?

Linkdify backs off on its own: the affected send is retried after 30 minutes, then 1 hour, then 2 hours. After three rate-limit hits in a day, remaining sends move to the next active day. If an account keeps getting rate-limited for three days in a row without sending anything, it is paused.

What happens if a rented profile is restricted?

It's replaced free of charge. Rented profiles have a low restriction rate (roughly 3–4%), and a restriction on one never touches your personal account.

Does Linkdify detect when LinkedIn restricts my account?

Not automatically. If LinkedIn shows you a warning or asks you to verify your identity, pause your campaigns in Linkdify and follow LinkedIn's steps before sending again.
