Erdem Mustafa runs global sales at Social Plus, a company that gives consumer brands the APIs, SDKs and UI kits to build feeds, chat, groups and UGC video into their own apps. His team used HeyReach for LinkedIn outreach. Then they moved to Linkdify.

Erdem was the first guest on Linkdify Live, our podcast with Linkdify users, and I asked him straight out why they switched. This post is his answer. Everything below about HeyReach is his own experience as a customer, in his own words where possible.

About Social Plus

Social Plus (social.plus, formerly Amity Social Cloud) was founded in 2021. It has 51-200 employees, and its features reach more than 100 million monthly end users inside customer apps. Customers include Ulta Beauty, Harley-Davidson, Noom, Talkspace and Volkswagen. Investors include SMDV, 500 Global, Gobi Partners, ITOCHU, Wavemaker Partners, Agaeti Ventures and Redbeat Ventures.

Short version

Social Plus left HeyReach over a clunky interface and slow support (often more than 24 hours for a reply). They chose Linkdify for AI messages that sound like a person wrote them, easier list uploads and rep assignment, and reporting Erdem can hand to his C-level.

Where they started

Social Plus sells to product, marketing, CX, digital and engineering leaders, and those people spend a lot of their working day on LinkedIn. So LinkedIn mattered from the start.

Before any automation, the team did what most sales teams do. They built lists by hand in Sales Navigator, sent connection requests one by one, wrote each message, and tried to keep track of who needed a follow-up. Erdem's point was that this is fine at ten prospects and breaks once you want LinkedIn to be a steady channel for a whole team. HeyReach was their first attempt to fix that.

What wasn't working with HeyReach

Erdem had two main complaints.

The interface slowed his team down. He described the way HeyReach's UI was built as "a little bit more cumbersome than it needed to be" for his reps.

Support was slow. This one clearly stuck with him.

Erdem Mustafa

"A lot of times I would reach out with questions or I would get errors or some sort of issue inside of the system, and when I'd reach out, it would be over 24 hours before I'd get some sort of response back. A lot of times I'd end up having to hound down my account manager in order to get that information."

When reps hit an error mid-campaign and wait a day for an answer, outreach just stops for that day. Do that a few times and people quietly go back to doing it by hand.

What he wanted instead

Erdem wanted structure around LinkedIn, but he wasn't willing to pay for it with message quality. "I absolutely do not want a thousand generic AI messages going under my name," he told me. He wanted to know which reps were reaching which accounts and to report on it, while every message still sounded like the rep who sent it.

Why Linkdify won

I asked him to compare the two tools directly. Here's what he named, roughly in the order he brought it up.

The messages sound human

This was the first thing he said. He called Linkdify's AI messaging "way more sophisticated and just way more human than anything HeyReach had ever created." He also said the team doesn't use AI for everything. When a campaign needs the same carefully written copy going to one specific group, they write it themselves.

It's easier to run day to day

He found Linkdify's interface "much smoother and much easier to operate." He called out uploading lists, adding new contacts the team is targeting, and assigning those leads to specific reps.

Reporting he can take to leadership

Erdem has to show Social Plus's C-level what LinkedIn activity looks like across his team. He described Linkdify's reporting as "very nice and clean."

Support that answers

After waiting a day or more for replies, faster support was part of the decision too. In his words, the team has "just found it to be much easier to use."

What mattered to Social Plus Their experience with HeyReach Their experience with Linkdify
Message quality Less natural AI copy "Way more human" AI messages, with the option to write their own
Ease of use "More cumbersome than it needed to be" "Much smoother and much easier to operate"
Lists and reps Not raised as a strength Easy list uploads and assigning leads to reps
Reporting Not raised as a strength Clean enough to share with the C-level
Support Often over 24 hours to respond Responsive

What changed after the switch

Erdem said the biggest change was in how the team works. LinkedIn used to be something reps got to when they remembered. Now campaigns are planned around a set of accounts, a persona, an industry, or an upcoming event.

"LinkedIn used to be an afterthought for my team. Now it's at the forefront of everything that they're doing."

The clearest result came at the Digital Travel Summit in Orlando. Erdem picked the attendees and speakers he wanted to meet, enriched their details, and ran outreach to them in Linkdify before the event. He landed with 15 to 20 meetings already booked. He was careful to say Linkdify didn't create every one of those meetings, but it got him in front of the people he cared about most. The full story is in our Social Plus case study.

Thinking about leaving HeyReach?

Erdem's checklist works for any outreach tool. Does it get your reps closer to a good conversation with the right person? Or are they spending their time configuring it, cleaning up its output, and checking one more dashboard? If it's the second, he'd say you've just bought another layer.

If your team is running into the same problems Social Plus had, try Linkdify. You can connect each rep's LinkedIn account, upload the lists you already have, and see whether the messages sound like your team.
