Expandi Review (2026): Pricing, Features, Safety, and When to Choose an Alternative

An honest Expandi review for 2026: verified pricing, core features, the real safety picture on LinkedIn, and when a full GTM platform is the better buy.

Expandi is one of the best-known names in LinkedIn automation, and if you're researching it you've probably seen the same recycled reviews repeating each other. This review takes a different approach: we verified the pricing on Expandi's own site, checked what LinkedIn's actual policies say about automation tools, and looked honestly at where Expandi fits well and where a different kind of product serves you better.

Full disclosure up front: we build Linkdify, a LinkedIn outreach platform that competes for some of the same buyers. We'll flag where that matters. The facts below stand on their own either way.

What is Expandi?

Expandi is a cloud-based LinkedIn and email automation platform. It automates connection requests, follow-up messages, and multichannel outreach sequences from your own LinkedIn account, and it runs in the cloud rather than as a browser extension, so campaigns keep working when your laptop is closed.

It launched as a safety-focused answer to the first generation of browser-extension automation tools, and that positioning stuck. Today most people evaluating it are agencies, sales teams, and founders who want to send personalized LinkedIn outreach at a volume no human can type by hand.

What Expandi actually does

Based on Expandi's own materials and how the product is described across tutorials and reviews, the core feature set covers:

  • Connection request campaigns. Send invites with personalized notes to a target list, with daily limits designed to mimic human behavior.
  • Follow-up sequences. Automated message chains that trigger when someone accepts, with delays between steps.
  • Smart sequences across LinkedIn and email. Conditional flows that combine LinkedIn actions with email steps in one campaign.
  • Built-in scraping. Pull prospect lists from a regular LinkedIn search, from group members, or from event attendees.
  • Personalization. Variable-based message personalization, including image and GIF personalization.
  • Campaign analytics. Acceptance rates, reply rates, and performance tracking per campaign.

That's a solid toolkit for the sending side of outreach. Keep the word "sending" in mind, because it defines both what Expandi is and what it isn't. We'll come back to that.

Expandi pricing (verified October 2026)

We checked Expandi's own pricing page rather than repeating third-party numbers, which are frequently wrong for tools in this category.

  • Monthly billing: $99 per account, per month.
  • Annual billing: $79 per account, per month (a 20% saving).
  • Free trial: 7 days.
  • Agency pricing: custom, for teams of roughly 10+ seats or white-label needs.

The per-account structure is the detail that matters most for teams. One rep with one LinkedIn account costs $99 a month. Ten reps cost $990 a month before you've paid for a data provider, an email tool, or anything else in the stack. For a solo founder that's a manageable line item. For a sales team, it compounds quickly, and it's worth pricing out the full stack rather than the one tool.

Is Expandi safe to use?

This is the most-asked question about Expandi, and most reviews answer it dishonestly in one direction or the other. Here's the straight version.

First, the uncomfortable truth that applies to every tool in this category, including ours: LinkedIn prohibits third-party automation. Its User Agreement bans bots and software that scrape data, add contacts, or send messages on a member's behalf, and LinkedIn's help center maintains an explicit policy page on prohibited software and extensions. A companion page on automated activity spells out the consequences: accounts that LinkedIn suspects of automation can be restricted or shut down. Any vendor that tells you their tool is "100% safe" or "LinkedIn-approved" is misleading you. No automation tool is approved by LinkedIn.

Second, the practical reality: risk is not binary, it's managed. Detection generally comes down to behavior: sending volume, acceptance rates, how human the activity pattern looks, and where the activity originates from. Expandi's cloud-based architecture and human-like sending limits exist precisely to manage that risk, and this approach is why it earned its safety-focused reputation over the extension tools that came before it. The same risk-management logic applies to any serious tool in the space: warm up new accounts slowly, keep daily volumes conservative, and prioritize message quality so your acceptance and reply rates stay high. Accounts that get reported for spam get restricted regardless of which tool sent the messages.

So the honest answer to "is Expandi safe?" is: it's among the more carefully engineered options in a category where nothing is risk-free, and your own sending behavior matters as much as the tool.

Where Expandi fits, and where it doesn't

Expandi makes sense when you already have the rest of your outreach system in place: a source of leads, someone writing the copy, and a workflow for handling replies. It's a strong executor. You bring the list and the messaging; it handles the sending mechanics reliably.

The gaps show up when the sending tool is the only thing you're buying and you expected a full system:

  • You still need leads. Expandi scrapes LinkedIn searches you build, but it isn't a B2B contact database. Most teams pair it with a separate data provider, which is another subscription.
  • You still need to write everything. Template variables like {first_name} were state of the art in 2020. Buyers now ignore templated messages on sight. McKinsey's research found that 71% of consumers expect personalized interactions, and 76% get frustrated when they don't get them. That expectation has fully carried over into B2B outreach.
  • Per-account pricing punishes scale. The teams that benefit most from automation (multiple reps, multiple accounts) are exactly the ones for whom $99 per account per month adds up fastest.
  • Reply handling lives elsewhere. Once conversations start, managing them across a team of reps is its own problem.

The alternative: a platform instead of a sending tool

This is where our bias is on the table, so weigh it accordingly. We built Linkdify because we kept watching teams duct-tape four subscriptions together: a data provider for leads, an automation tool for sending, an AI writing tool for personalization, and a shared inbox for replies.

Linkdify's answer is to put the whole workflow in one place:

  • Built-in lead discovery. Search a B2B database by title, industry, and location inside the platform, and have campaigns topped up with fresh leads matching your ICP every day. No separate data subscription.
  • AI-written messages per lead. Instead of one template with variables, the AI writes each message individually at send time, drawing on the lead's profile and recent activity. The difference between "Hi {first_name}" and a message that references what a prospect actually works on is the difference McKinsey's personalization numbers describe.
  • Voice notes at scale. Send LinkedIn voice messages in your own cloned voice, a format almost nobody automates and almost everybody listens to.
  • Team-ready by design. Multiple LinkedIn accounts under one roof, a unified inbox where owners see every rep's conversations, lead deduplication across the team so two reps never message the same prospect, and tools to reassign leads between reps.
  • Simple pricing. $59 per connected LinkedIn account per month, with lead discovery and AI writing included rather than sold as add-ons.

Expandi vs. Linkdify at a glance

Expandi Linkdify
Category LinkedIn + email sending automation LinkedIn GTM platform
Lead database included No (scrapes searches you build) Yes, with daily auto top-up
Personalization Template variables, image/GIF AI writes each message per lead
Voice notes No Yes, including voice cloning
Team inbox Per-account Unified across the team
Price $99/account/mo ($79 on annual) $59/account/mo

If you only need a sender and you like building your own stack, Expandi is a reasonable pick. If you'd rather buy the system than assemble it, that's the case for a platform.

Frequently asked questions

What is Expandi used for?

Expandi is used to automate LinkedIn outreach: sending connection requests, follow-up messages, and combined LinkedIn-plus-email sequences from your own account, with campaign analytics on top. Agencies and sales teams use it to run outbound prospecting at volumes that would be impractical manually.

Is Expandi safe to use?

No LinkedIn automation tool is sanctioned by LinkedIn; its User Agreement prohibits third-party bots and automated messaging, and accounts can be restricted for suspected automation. Within that reality, Expandi's cloud architecture and human-like sending limits make it one of the more risk-conscious tools available. Conservative volumes and genuinely relevant messaging matter at least as much as the tool choice.

How much does Expandi cost?

As of October 2026, Expandi costs $99 per account per month on monthly billing, or $79 per account per month when billed annually, with a 7-day free trial. Agency pricing is custom.

What should I look for in a LinkedIn automation tool?

Four things: how the tool manages account risk (cloud-based operation, warm-up, humanized limits), whether it includes lead data or requires a separate provider, how real the personalization is (per-lead AI writing versus fill-in-the-blank templates), and whether it supports team workflows like a shared inbox and cross-rep deduplication. Price the full stack you'll need, not just the sender.

Bottom line

Expandi earned its reputation: it's a capable, risk-aware LinkedIn sending tool at $99 per account per month, best suited to users who already have leads, copy, and reply workflows handled elsewhere. If what you actually want is the whole outbound motion in one product, from finding the leads to AI-personalized sending to managing replies across a team, that's what Linkdify was built for, at $59 per connected account.
